EFFECT ON COST OF LIVING.
PARIS, October 2. Another record has been reached by the gold reserves in the Bank of France which total £474,000,000 at par of exchange. This shows an increase of more than £6,000,000 in a weslc, apart.from recent air shipments. In the meanwhile the cost of, living in France is rapidly rising, the index figure being G3O, compared with 100 in 1914. The cost of lft£sg has risen steadily with the. accumula&on of gold,
