'Wane Overturns in Yangtse
River.
RESCUE BY BRITISH.
SHANGHAI, October 2.
Colonel Charles Lindbergh's monoplane was taking off from the Yangtse Biver to-day, in the vicinity of Hankow, when it capsized, throwing the airman and his wife and a Chinese doctor into the jwater. All three were rescued by the crew of ft' launch from the British aircraftjarrier Hermes. Colonel Lindbergh for the past forthright has been assisting the Nanking Government by aerially surveying the flooded areas. He was preparing for another survey, and was taxi-ing when $Bie machine tipped over. ■ The airman hopes to be able to have (Sse machine, repaired and to continue Ms world flight.
