SUNSET.

(By Alma Wynn, Queen Street, WalMi age 14.) The golden sun is setting, And. the sky has lost its blue. But its dancing rays are tinting The clouds a wondrous hue. The tumbling stream has lost its gleanij The grass is warm no more, And the scurrying blue-green -wavelets break Less gaily on the shore. A myriad birds chirp cheerful words To a rapidly-setting sun— "Sleep your sleep and shine to-morrow* Gne more day is done." The golden sun is setting, And the hills are blurred and grey, The evening breeze is wafted cool, 'Tis the end of a summer's day. Gone as a fresh and dew-drenched rose> Pales and fades away— But by its side a new bud grows, The dawn of another day.
