Senator Reed, of Pennsylvania, after again advocating to Mr. Hoover his proposal for a sales tax, says he believes the United States should follow Britain s example and face the music. He believes that unless additional moneys are raised by taxation the Treasury's deficit will reach- beyond £300,000,000.
