India's total population, according to revised census, is almost 3/53,000.000, of which approximately 182.000.000 arc males ami females. Ihe census discloses an increase of 10. pe •cent since 1021. Hindus number about 23 and Moslems nearly 74,000,00 - P P lation of British India is 271,000,000, and of the Indian States and agencies 81,000,000.
