WILSONS MINE.
DIFFICULTY WITH PUMPING. MORE PIPES PROCURED. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) "WHANG ARE I, this day. According-to information received this morning it had been found impossible to clear the blockage in the main pump at the bore hole at Wilsons Colliery. This was regarded as unfortunate, as it would necessitate procuring about 3000 feet of Gin pipe, costing about £1000 to bring the water up through the drive. Later to-day, however, it was reported that during the last 48 hours the miners have succeeded in landing at the mine 3000 feet of Gin pipe. This has been placed in position with volunteer labour and screwed up. It is expected to have the pump working by Wednesday. The water has been going down at the rate of about one foot per shift, but with the additional pump at work it will go down much more rapidly. In the course of nine days the men should be able to work in No. 6 section. An order for 1200 tons of coal has been received for this week and no difficulty is anticipated in fulfilment.
