SERIOUS CASE IN FAR EAST.
HONGKONG, September 10,
The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, the largest British bank in the Orient, warns the public against accepting new 100-dollar notee of the 1929 issue, as information has been received that a gang of forgers has been operating at Peking and Tientsin with large bundles of forged notes. Their total face value exceeds 200,000 dollars. It is believed that the notes emanated from Moscow.
