SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP.

THISTLE TO MEET Y.M.C.A,

The senior championship competition of the Auckland Football Association has reached the final stage, and what may do the deciding game will he that to-morrow afternoon at Blandford Park between Thistle and Y.M.C.A. The latter start with a two points lead and they have a two tq one chance of again winning the championship, as a victory or a draw *ill give them the title. Thistle, on the other hand, must win to give them a chance of wresting the championship from last season's holders, and if they gain the day a play-off will be necessary. The game promisee to be a very strenuously contested one, with a willing pace throughout, as both teams are determined fighters. Owing' to several of the members of the Tranmurewa reserve team having been called upon to travel to Wellington to assist the first eleven, the curtain-raiser with Y.M.C.A. for the senior cup semifinal has had to be postponed. In its place' the third grade open championship final between Abels and Henderson will be staged. These teams are the most evenly matched of any in the many competitions in. the code, and a lively game is assured. Mr. R. Hi Parfitt will referee. . . • . .With the Tramurewa first eleven doing battle at.Wellington for the Chatham Cup, there are no other' senior competition games to-morrow. New Lynn, however, will have as their guests a.team from Hikurangi, when the local club will play a return game with the, Northerners. Ponsonby and North Shore have arranged a friendly game at Devonport, starting at 3 o'clock. Teams are as follows: — PONSONBY. POSTPONED NEXT WEEK. All games in the second round of the business houses' competition set down for decision next week have been postponed owing to unexpected ground difficulties. The committee is making arrangements that will overcome such obstacles in the future. VISIT TO HUNTLY. TWO BOYS' TEAMS. Two teams of Auckland boys will visit Huntly to-morrow, one composed of primary school reps, and the other the Comrades third intermediate grade eleven. Messrs. G. C. Ballantyne, R. M. Beswick and A. B. Chappell will be in charge of the teams.
