BILLIARD PARLOUR GUTTED.

OWNER IN AUCKLAND. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) TAIHAPE, this day*. At 1.45 this morning the • prdmises occupied by Mr. ,J. J. Ryan, as a billiard parlour, in Hautapu Street, were gutted- by fire. Prompt work by the brigade prevented the adjoining premises, comprising an old wooden building, from catching; The j burnt-out building, is owned by Mr. George Wrighteon, a retired builder, of Epsom, Auckland, and the insurances are not available. The same billiard rooms were burnt out four years ago. The origin of the fire is unknown.
