A GANGSTER'S MISTAKE.

SYDNEY, September 9. James Devine was acquitted of the murder of Frederick Moffitt, who was found at Maroubra, on June 17, shot dead at the wheel of his motor calx. Accused was discharged. Devine's explanation was that he fired in self-defence at : an occupant of Moffitt's cab, and that the bullet inadvertently killed Moffitt.
