LAND AT ONEHUNGA.
TO BE VESTED IN COUNCIL
NOT NEEDED BY RAILWAYS,
(By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. Advice has been received by Mr. W. J. Jordan ,M.P. (Manukau), that provision will be made in this year's Lands "Wash-ing-up" Bill for the vesting of an area of railway lands at Onehunga in the Onehunga Borough Council. The land is 10J acres of tidal mud fiat, part of a railway reserve. It is no longer required for railway purposes, and will be vested in the council without payment. It is the intention Of the council, to reclaim the land and to use part of it for the purpose of constructing streets, floodgates and one or two more bridges. The balance of the land will be used for recreation purposes.
