CAMPS FOR UNEMPLOYED.
MEN DECLARE THEM "BLACK."
CHRISTCHURCH RESOLUTION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, Wednesday. At a meeting of single unemployed men held to-day, Mr. R. T. Bailey, offieer-in-charge of the Christchurch office of the Labour Department explained the scheme for camps for single unemployed men. The following resolution was carried: —"That after hearing the explanation of the operations and conditions for the camjw, this, meeting of single men declares the camps 'black'."
SMALL RESPONSE IN NAPIER,
ONLY'TWENTY MEN ENROL. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) NAPIER, Wednesday. Although there are 300 single men registered as unemployed in Napier, difficulty has been experienced in getting together two gangs of 10 each to go into camp at Tangoio. Opportunity still remains for another 10 to benefit by the scheme.
