LONDON, September 3. (Quotations on Aug. 31 in parentheses.) Copper.—Spot, £32 10/7% (£33 3/9); three months, £33 6/IOVa (£33 18/9). Electrolytic Copper.—Spot, £36 5/ (£36 5/); three months, £37 (£37). Wire Bars.—£36 10/ (£37). Lead.—Spot, £11 1/3 (£ll 15/); three months, £11 5/ (£l2). Spelter—Spot, £11 2/6 (£ll 11/3); three months, £11 13/9 (£ll 18/9). Tin—Spot, £117 11/3 (£l2l 1/3); three months, £120 1/3 (£123 13/9). Silver. —Standard, 12% d (12% d) per oz; fine, 13% d (13 15-16 d). LONDON SHEEPSKIN SALES. A POOR MARKET. (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, September 4. At the sheepskin sales 6879 bales were offered, mainly of inferior sorts. Those suitable to British fellmongers sold at about 15 per cent below July prices, but most bids were 20 to 25 per cent under July, consequently withdrawals were heavy. Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London house, dated 4th instant:—6B97 bales were offered, and 1705 bales sold. Merino, three-quarter to fullwoolled, 3%d to 4%d; quarter to halfwoolled, 2d to 3Mid; short and shorn, Id to I9id; crossbred, three-quarter to fullw(oolled, fine, 4d to sd; three-quarter to full-woolled, medium and coarse, 3%d to 4Mjd; quarter to half-woolled, fine 3%d to 4 1 /4 d, medium and coarse 3 J /id to 4d; short and shorn, 2%d to 3%d. FROZEN MEAT. PRICES AT SMITHFIELD. The Bank of New Zealand has received the following message from, its London oflice as at the close of business this week: Wethers: The market is quiet, but firm. Ewes: There is a little better demand. Lambs: The advance in prices has chccked the demand. It is thought prices have reached top. Wethers, light 5V4d to 6d per lb, heavy 4%d; ewes. 3 J /£d to 4%d; lambs, twos SVtd to B%d, eights 8d to BVid, fours 7d to 7 3 / id, seconds 7%d to BUd.
