Mr. P. J. McGrath, of Sydney, ia at the Grand Hotel. Mr. R. 0. Gross, the Auckland sculptor, returned from Wellington this morning. Mr. F. Lye, M.P., arrived at Frankton from Wellington by the Limited this morning. The Hon. J. B. Donald, PostmasterGeneral, returned from the South this morning. He will leave for Wellington on Monday evening. Messrs. A. Harris, J. N. Massey, W. J. Jordan, G. C. Munns and W. W. Massey, M.P.'s, returned from Wellington this morning. Colonel J. E. Duigan, officer in charge of the Northern Command, left for Rotorua this morning to do "organising work in connection with the Volunteer Force. The Hons. G. Ji Garland, W. Stewart, J. B. Gow and J. Trevethick, M.L.C.'s, returned from Wellington by the Limited this morning. Mr. C. L. Hall, manager of the Palmerston North branch of the Bank of New South Wales, is leaving New Zealand to take up an important position at the bank's headquarters in Sydney. Dr. A. N. McKelvey is on a brief visit to Rotorua, his place at the Auckland Infirmary being taken by . Dr. H. L. Gould, assistant medical superintendent at the Auckland Hospital. The Mayor, Mr. G. W. Hutchison, will leave for Wellington on Tuesday to attend a meeting of the executive of the Municipal Association. He will return to Auckland on Thursday. Mr. P. Davidson, who is retiring from the managership of the Christchurch branch of Messrs. Ross and Glendining, has been connected with the drapery trade for -.ver 60 years. He has been a member of the. Canterbury Chamber of Commerce for over 20 years, and was president in-1918-19.
