VETERANS' TOURNEY

FINAL MATCHES DECIDED.

(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.), ROTORUA, Thursday. The final stages of the veterans' golf tournament were commenced this morning, the weather being dull and showery. Veterans' Cup.—Semi-final: Ross beat Redhead, 5 and 3; Liddle beat Wilkie, 3 and 2. Final: Ross (Frankton) beat Liddle (Miramar), 3 and 2. Veterans' Trophy.—Semi-final: ' Horton beat Worthington, 2 up; Somerville beat Hutchinson, 3 and 1. Final: Sommerville (Auckland) beat Horton (Auckland), 2 up, In the final of the cup, Ross led from the start, and won comfortably. In the trophy filial the players were very evenly matched, being all square at the sixteenth. :, At the conclusion, the prizes were presented by Mr. 10. W. Wilkie, patron of the Rotorua Golf Club.
