WEDDINGS OF THE DAY.

COULAM—BENNETT. The wedding was celebrated last evening at All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, of Miss Norene Bennett, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. F. Bennett, of Hamilton Road, Heme Bay, and Mr. Allan Coulam, eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Coulam, of Greenhithe. Beautiful clusters of nodding daffodils and sweet scented almond blossom decorated the church, where a full choral service was conducted by Dr. K.. Phillips. The Rev. W. W. Averill performed the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore- a gown of ivory satin, which fell in graceful flares from an unusually decorated bodice. The stitched and piped bands were placed in- horizontal lines, slight gatherings having a V of satin leaves, studded with seed pearls. A liand-embroidered Brussels lace veil was swathed over the head, and held in place by a pointed bandeau of orange blossoms. A beautiful sheaf of bridal blooms was carried. The bridesmaids were the Misses Marjorie Bennett, the bride's cousin, of, Palmerston North; Dorothy Kiiox, Florance Coulam and Shirley Fannin, also a cousin, from Palmerston North. Their frocks were fashioned alike, the .first two made of pale willow green souple satin, and the latter two of cowslip yellow souple satin. The bodices had stitched bends, and swathings were used from the hip yoke waists. Upturned hats of tulle, with sprays of velvet daisies across the back, were worn, and long net mittens. The sheaves of flowers were the same colours as the gowns. The little flower girl was a cousin of the bride, Elaine Bennett. She was in a primrose Victorian period frock, the long ribbon frilled skirt being edged with narrow tulle bands. The poke bonnet was of tulle, and a basket of gold flowers was I carried. The best man was Mr. Harvey Thomson, and the groomsmen Messrs. Keith Anderson, R. Stacey and Percy Coulam. The ushers at the church were Messrs. Eric Pate, C. Robinson, Ralph Pawson, Gordon Jenkins, Walter Agar and Niels Sylow. After the ceremony a. reception was held at the residence of the bride's parents, the house being a bower of beautiful blooms. The large number of guests were received by Mr., and .Mrs. Bennett, the latter wearing a draped Burgundy ring velvet with chiffon sleeves and deep velvet cuffs. The hat and bouquet were of. the same tones. The bridegroom's mother wore a hyacinth shade of blue satin, with Ta hat and bouquet to match.
