Fo.ur hundred children were relieved through this supply. The Auckland council of the St. Vincent de Paul Society wrote offering to co-operate with the association, and this offer was received with appreciation. Returns from local efforts to raise funds were received, showing the male voice choir's concert contribution as £6 17/ and Miss Moore's dance £10 13/6. It was reported that there was an urgent need for a further supply of men's trousers and boots. The ladies' committee reported that -the clothes depot would be reopened on September 11. " There was discussion on the question of supplying seed potatoes and garden seed's to residents willing to cultivate their sections, but unable to buy the required seeds. The general opinion of the committee was that this would be a splendid chance for the unemployed to prove their worth by helping themselves. A special committee was set rip and a sum of money allocated for the purpose, and applications will be dealt with on their merits.
