FORGERY AND THEFT.
FACTORY HAND PLEADS GUILTY. i (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. John Cecil Whitclaw Saunders, aged 22, a factory hand, pleaded guilty today and was committed to the "Supreme Court for sentence on eight charges of forging cheques purporting to be of n total value of £45, and on six charges of the theft of goods and money of n total value of £29 18/ G.
Evidence was given of a Poet Offic; bank book and cheque book having been stolen from a coat which was left hanging in a restaurant, and of cheques hclni> cashed.
Other thefts were admitted as the result of an interview by the police and a visit .to Saundcrs' lodging*.
