REFUND WANTED.

TRANSPORT BOARD'S BATES. DOUBLE PAYMENT MADE. Having discovered that ratee are being paid both to the Auckland City Council and to the One Tree Hill Borough Council for certain tram tracks in One Tree Hill district, the Auckland Transport Board is asking the borough council for a refund of £342. The clerk of the One Tree Hill Council stated last night that rates paid by the Transport Board in the past three years totalled £805 11/, and for the current year they were charged £248 8/, whieh would be reduced by £102 12/ if their claim were correct. The Mayor, Mr. I. J. Goldstine, remarked that apparently the mistake had I been first made by the City Council, and handed on to the Transport Board. A committee consisting of the Mayor and Messrs. W. G. Mulholland and M. J. Hooper was appointed to discu3e the matter with the Transport Board and the City Council.
