"NONE GREATER."
ME. HOLLAND ON EDUCATION.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.)
GREYMOUTH, Monday.
A new school building at Blackball was officially opened this afternoon by Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour party and member for Buller. After apologising for t the unavoidable absence of the Minister of Education, the Hon. H. Atmore/Mr. Holland said every one of the great social services of the Dominion was of extreme importance, •but none greater than education. Educated citizenship was always the nation's best asset and it was the nation's duty to see that the widest possible range was given to the work of the educationists.
To this end, said Mr. Holland, there should be a general aversion to any line of policy that might tend to sacrifice the efficiency of the national system of education to what might be considered exigencies of the financial situation.
