PERJURY CHARGES.

OUTCOME OF CIVIL CLAIM. TWO SALESMEN COMMITTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, Monday. Charges of perjury arising out of a motor collieion at Dannevirke last October were preferred against two motor salesmen, Wm. Andrew Allen, of Dannevirke, and Vivian Carr, of Wellington, in the Police Court to-day. The case was a sequel to a civil action for damages arising from the collision, in which the magistrate commented upon the unsatisfactory nature of the evidence. The alleged perjury hinged upon the question whether one of the vehicles in the collision was removed from the scene of the accident or whether it remained there as accused alleged it did. Both men pleaded not guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court at Napier for trial. Bail vrae allowed.
