NATIONAL PARTY.
ATTITUDE OF REFORMERS. SOME WOULD FOLLOW MB. FORBES. MR. COATES' DELAYED REPLY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) DUXEDIX, this day. Commenting on the political situation, the "Star" newspaper says: "It really appears to us that even in the present Parliament there are Reforv members who would be more than satisfied to follow Mr. Forbes. Is there, then, any reason of personal pique in Mr. Coates' attitude over fusion '! Is there, we are at last constrained to ask, any other personal consideration standing in the way':
"Many people, including many Reform supporters, are awaiting the result ot Mγ. Coates promised reconsideration of fusion. There i≤ more than a possibility that while he is trying to make up 'his mind no inconsiderable section of Reform supporters in the electorates may go right past him and that it" he delays his answer much longer he may find it inconsequential when given.' .
