HARBOUR BRIDGE WANTED.

ATTITUDE AT WHAXGAREI. (From Our Own Correspondent.) WHAXGAREI, this day. In a communication to the Whangarei Borough Council last night the Auckland Harbour Bridge Company, Limited, stated that a report was being circulated that the bridge scheme was not being asked for by the people, and requesting the council to wire to the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, who is in charge of the bill. The Mayor stated that a telegram had already been sent to the effect that the people of Whangarei wanted the bridge. The message, however, did not commit the borough in any way financially.
