WOMEN'S INSTITUTES.
KAIPAKI. A branch of tho Women's Institute was formed at Kaipaki on Wednesday, and the following otlieeTa were elected lor the eucuing year:—President, Mr?. A. Steenson; secretary, Mrs. K. D. MeKinnon; treasurer, Mrs. A. Fisher; committee, Mesdames iinley, McDonald, Goodwin, J. lioyd, Lynda, £. Isearle, and Misaes Xarr and Speake. PAEROA. The monthly meeting of the Paeroa Women's institute was presided over by Mrt>. Tuston. In order to raise functa ior the Paeroa school dental clinic it was decided to hold a children's lancy dress ball at an early date. Members discussed the birthday programme for next month. JUrs. R. INicK.ee and Miss JiinmoU were appointed to the tales table. A pleading feature of the institute is the interest taken in the newlyformed book exchange, which is well patronised, and quite a, large number of books have been given. The latter part of tho meeting was devoted to community singing. The hostesses were Mesdame* Uee, Finnic and Whyte.
HUNTLY. A special meeting of the Huntly Women's Institute was held on Wednesday evening at the residence of Mrs. '£. C'hisholm, where the members were entertained. Miss Lewis, of Titirangi, was present, and gave many useful suggestions, and also showed how to make wool toys, glovee, moccasins and bags. Mrs. Cliisholm gave a lecture on "Home Craft and Decorations." During the evening a competition, arranged by Mre. T. Hall, was held. The winner was Mrs. J. Kumney. At the close Mrs. J. Dodds passed a hearty vote of thanks to Miss Lewis for her attendance. Hostesses for the evening were Mesdames T. Chisholui, T. Hall and J. Tait.
