FAREWELL TO DR. M. STALEY. . Members of the Auckland Council of the New Zealand Alliance on Monday evening farewelled Dr. Mildred Staley, who, owing to ill-health, has decided to take up her residence in Honolulu. The meeting passed a resolution expressing appreciation of the service rendered to the temperance cause by Dr. Staley. In reply Dr. Staley epoke of the pleasure she had found in association with those who were engaged in social reform work in New Zealand. She regretted having to sever her connection with the alliance, but hoped to visit the Dominion again and renew old associations.
