BRITISH SPORT.
In your leader of July .11 on cricket Tests you state that England holds very few championships in sport. This is rather a sweeping statement, which the following facts will disprove: In the Empire Games, held in Hamilton. Canada, last year the results were: Eng; land won 2-3 events. Canada 17, New Zealand 3. Australia 3. Also at the present hvonie'nt England holds the following: The world's sculling championship; Rugby League championship; amateur billiards of the British Empire championship: women's open golf championship; men's amateur open -;olf championship; women's hockey championship; motor cycle broadsiding championship; all motor cycle races open to the world's best riders; all speed records on lai.d, air and sea, excepting the outboard motor events, are at present held by England. ■ J.
