RACING IN CITIES.

POSITION OF COUNTRY CLUBS. The dates committee of the New Zealand Racing Conference yesterday forwarded a recommendation to the conference that the practice of allowing clubs to race on other than their own courses be discontinued in future. The president said that this was one of the most important matters that would come before the conference. The Minister of Internal Affairs had approved of the principle embodied in the recommendation, and he (the president) wanted it understood that it would be given effect to.
