AMERICAN DEBATERS.
VISITORS FROM OREGON.
ARRIVAL IN AUCKLAND.
FIRST DEBATE TO-MORROW,
The team of debaters from the University of Oregon, U.S.A., who are making a tour of New Zealand, arrived in Auckland by motor car from Rotorua this afternoon. Two debates will be held against Auckland University College, the net proceeds being devoted to the Jubilee Institute for the Blind.
The team, whicli consists of Messrs. R. T. Miller, R. A. Pfaff and D. G. Wilson, came up from the South through Hawke's Bay. They have- won every debate held so far, and are reported to be witty and fluent speakers. A reception will be accorded them at the college this evening.
An Auckland team, comprising Messrs. K. H. Melvin, L. Miller and M. G. Sullivan, will meet the Americans at the Town Hall to-morrow evening to debate "Disarmament." A second debate will be held at the College Hall on Wednesdav evening, when the local team (Messrs. G. Rowe, S. S. P. Hamilton and G. 0. Adams) will take the negative in a discussion, "That Imperialism is a Menace."
