! MAN FALLS UNDER MOVING TRAIN. IN VERCARC. ILL ACCIDENT. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sunday. A man named Bernard Patrick MeAuliffe, aged 34, wa3 killed at Bluff last; evening when attempting to board a moving train. He missed his grip and fell between the platform and the train, the wheels passing over him. MOTOR CYCLIST KILLED. COLLISION WITH A TAXI. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Sunday. Fatal injuries w ; ere received by Mr. John Stanley Hayes Smith, an insurance agent, aged 23, last evening in a collision between a motor cycle he was riding and a taxi. He died in hospital. Deceased was married. FARM HAND DROWNED. BODY WASHED UP ON BEACH. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, Sunday. The body of Charles Fairweather, a farm hand on Mr. E. Riddiford's To fa, sheep station, aged 28 years and married, who was drowned about two weeks ago, was washed up on the beach yesterday morning. At an inquest held at Mr. Riddiford's homestead to-day, the coroner returned a verdict of accidental drowning. Mr. Fairweather's wife is living at Havelock North, and Jiis parents reside at Blenheim. CHILD KICKED BY HORSE. Head injuries and a broken collarbone were suffered by Peggy Holmes, aged six, of Buckland Road, Mangere, through being kicked by a horse on Saturday. She received treatment from Dr. C. Rowley, of Otahuhu, and was removed to the Auckland Hospital. Her condition is satisfactory. INJURED AT WORK. While working at the Auckland power station yesterday Mr. Thomas Hanton, aged 50, of 45, Ireland Street, POll- - received injuries to the left foot, which was caught in a coal grab. He was taken to the Auckland Hospital. MISHAP IN LIFT. Mr. Richard Moore, aged 19, of 35, Stanmore Road, Grey Lynn, had his foot crushed through a mishap in a lift at the premises of Messrs. Yates and Co., Ltd., about 11 o'olock this .morning. He was admitted to the Auckland Hospital. WOMAN'S ARM BROKEN. Mrs. Agnes Briggs, aged 40, of Rosebank Road, Avondale, -was admitted to the Auckland Hospital this morning suffering from a fractured right arm. FOOTBALLERS INJURED. In a match at Rugby Park, Whangarei, a player named Bennett, a member of the Wliakapara junior team broke his right leg. He was taken tc the Whangarei Hospital by the St. John Ambulance. J. Starley, of Seabrook Avenue, New Lynn, had his ankle injured while he was playing for the New Lynn Soccei team at Victoria Park. He was treated by the St. John Ambulance. While playing in a football match at Rakaumauga on Saturday afternoon Francis Hughes, aged 15, had his right leg fractured. He was taken to th( Huntly Hospital, and later conveyed bj ambulance to the hospital at Hamilton
