COAL AND BLANKET FUND.
A splendid concert was organised by Madame Grace Griffiths and held in St. Matthew's Hall last week in aid of the coal and blanket fund. The .hall was packed and extra seating was provided. Canon Grant Cowren, in a few brief words, thanked Madame Griffiths for her help and presented her with several bouquets. This is the second occasion on which this party has assisted the above worthy cause and this year's concert has provided over 200 families with coal, etc The following items were presented: —Trios, quartets and duets, Mrs» H. A. Keven, Mrs. J. H. Allan, Miss Cecelia Pringle, Mise Olive Stephenson; solos, Mrs. H. Armstrong Keven, Mrs. J. N. Allan, Miss Cecelia Pringle, Mr. H. Jessop, Mr. A. Lyon Griffiths; elocution, Miss Madge Home, Miss Joan Smythe, Mr. A. Lyon Griffiths; dancing, Miss Peggy Holmes; violin, Mr- Paul Bretnallj accpmpaniste v Madame Gaaco iSdffiaa, '
