•LECTURE AT THE INSTITUTE. •Of recent years, more especially since 1929, the influence of price movements on economic prosperity has been abundantly demonstrated to the popular mind, and in all parts of the world there is much speculation as to the probable future course, of prices. On Monday next, at 8 p.m. in the University College Hall, Dr. H. Belshaw, professor of eonomice at Auckland University College, wiU discuss this subject under the auspices of toe Auckland Institute and Museum, taking as his title, "Gold, the Arbiter of Destiny. He will examine the factors ott which Keneral price movements depend, considei the special relationship of gbld production to the general level of prices in the future, and indicate the bearing of the problem on future economic condition* in New Zealand.
