SWEET SONGSTERS.
AUCKLAND CANARY SHOW. YORKSHIRE CLUB'S RECORD DISPLAY. A record entry of 163 birds was received for the seventh annual show promoted by the Auckland Yorkshire Canary Club, which is being held in the Unity Hall, Queen Street, to-day. In the opinion of the judge, Mr. T. G. Knight, the quality of the exhibits is of a generally higher standard than on any previous occasion. A notable winner is a second-year yellow cock shown by Mr. NY "Munro, who secured the Davis Cup, the Speight Cup, and the championship ribbon for the best bird in the show, presented by Mi'. W. A. Hanson. This is a bird of lovely deep colour, shown in excellent condition. Another bird of exceptional quality is a first-year buff cock shown by Mr. G. Beeston, which won the Belcher trophy, whilst the yellow cinnamon shown by Mrs. E. D. Sutor, which Avon the Novice Cup, is also worthy of special mention.
