CRICKET TEST.
LARWOOD OUT. Notts Fast Bowler Replaced by Allen of Middlesex. "TRUE SPIRIT OF CRICKET." (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 10 a.m.) LONDON, June 2G. It was announced to-day that both Sutcliffe and Larwood are not available for the England Test eleven and will be replaced respectively by F. Woolley and G. 0. Allen. Larwood strained an ankle while playing for Worcester yesterday. Although Sutcliffe "vvas declared unfit lie made' 107 against Hampshire yesterday. The Selection Committee decided it would be unfair to play him with the knowledge that a substitute -fieldsman might be required. The New Zealanders took full advantage of the warm weather to-day for practice at Lord's. Pine weatlier is predicted for the week-end. Spccial police are on guard, watching the pitch from this evening until Tuesday. The absence of Sutcliffe and Larwood certainly weakens the England side, but the opposition .is still strong, and the New Zealanders arc determined to spare no effort to make a good showing. Clitics generally anticipate an interesting game, and are not disposed to belittle New Zealand's chances. The "Evening Standard" says: "Let none refer to the match by saying the opposition is only New Zealand. There need bo no such qualification in speaking either of New Zealand, or ot' its capable sporting cricketers. This Test has all the material for a fascinating game, played in the true spirit of cricket."
