A DIFFICULT TASK.
(By Joyce Hopkins, Park Street, Morrinsvllle.) Here is a good trick which always causes fun at a party. Ask someone to stand straight up and then cross his legs above the knees. Now place a chair close behind him, and ask him to sit down without uncrossing his legs and without moving his feet from the ground. If he keeps his feet quite still in the same position as they Were when he crossed his legs, lie will probably be unable to sit down at all. It is exceedingly difficult in this position to bend the knees, and so sitting down is a task that is more' easily spoken of than performed. If the legs are crossed below the knees, it is quite easy to sit down without moving the feet from their position upon the floor.
