NEW ZEALAND CUP. PENALTY FOB ACCEPTORS ? NEW CONDITIONS APPROVED. | (By Telegraph.—Special to "Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. The committee of the New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club has announced the conditions for the New Zealand Trotting Cup, to be decided at Addington in November. They are the game as last year, except for one slight variation. The stake remains at £4000, with a gold cup valued at £100. The race will be run in two divisions and a final, the divisions on the first day and the final on the second day, four horses from each division being eligible for the final. The first horse (each . division) will receive £600, second £200, third '£125 and fourth £75, while in the final the winner will receive £1000 and the cup, second £500, third £350, and fourth £150. The race will again be open to horses that have done or been handicapped to do 4.26 or better. The only variation, compared with last year, does not really affect the New Zealand Cup, but it Is a condition that will operate against a number of Cup candidates later in the meeting. It is as follows: "Horses accepting in this race will, subject to penalties for a performance, be handicapped for two-mile races on the same mark throughout the meeting." The Cup divisions will be drawn by lot, after the final acceptance, which is due on Tuesday, November 3. In the event of an owner or trainer accepting for two horses, one will be, drawn in each division, and in the event of an owner or trainer accepting for three horses, one will be drawn in one division and two in the other division. Placed horses in divisions will not be rekandicapped for the final.
