VISIT TO FRANCE.

MR. MELLON'S TOUR. (British Official Wireless.) (Received 12.30 p.m.) RUGBY, June 25. The Secretary to the United States Treasury, Mr. Andrew Mello'n, left for Paris to-day. He declined to discuss the purpose of his mission, but the newspapers anticipate that he will discuss with fie authorities the details in connection with the French reservation to Mr. Hoover's proposals, which are due to take effect on Wedneeday. Mr. Mellon may visit Berlin after Paris. The general acceptance in principle of Mr. Hoover's proposals has had a tonic effect on the business community. There vvas an optimistic" tone on the London Stock Exchange to-day. Active trading in British funds increased and public inquiry for industrial shares was a feature of the market.
