DEBARRED FOR TEN YEARS.
DRUNK MAN IN LORRY. HEAD HANGING OVER WHEEL. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Robert Bruce McKinlay, aged 32, a motor mechanic, was to-day fined £50, and his driving license was cancelled, and he was debarred from renewing it for ten years. He was found in a lorry in Manners Street last evening with his head hanging over the wheel. He was taken to the police station and released on bail. In 1925 he was convicted for being drunk in charge of a motor car, and sentenced to 21 days' gaol. In 1928 he was again convicted, and his license was cancelled for two years. Since then he had spent part of his time in gaol. After being bailed out this morning his car collided with a pole, but it had not been ascertained if he had obtained more liquor after being bailed out.
