WELLINGTON RESOLUTIONS.

OFFICERS FOR YEAR ELECTED. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. At the conference of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers' Association the election of officers resulted as follows:—President, Sir Andrew Russell; vice-president, Mr. W. Perry; district vice-presidents, Sir George Richardson (Auckland), Messrs. B. J. Jacobs (Wellington), W. G. Lloyd (Canterbury), W. D. Skelton (Otago); Dominion ,hon. treasurer, Mr. J. D. Harper; general committee, Messrs. A. T. Duncan, C. W. Batten, N. A. Vercoe, E. F. Willcox, 0. L. Fereiic, A. C. A. Sexton; delegate to Canteen Funds Board, Colonel M. Aldred; delegate to New Zealand Farmers' Union, Mr. M. McConacliie; delegate to War Pensions Board, Mr. J. D. Harper. The conference adopted a resolution that as due appreciation of national achievement, self-sacrifice find heroism inspired succeeding generations to live up to the finest traditions'-of the country, the solemnity which now characterised the observance of Anzac Day should be fully, maintained, and that all efforts to lower this standard should be firmly resisted. A remit was carried that in necessitous cases of returned soldier mortgagors under the State Advances Department, the mortgagor should have the right to obtain a readjustment of the terms of the mortgage on proper application. -■ While the conference did not express any dissatisfaction with the existing land boards, it was decided to make representations to the Government to enable the association to have representation 011 boards.: .It was decided to urge the Government to introduce legislation .providing for the revaluation of house properties secured to the Crown under the Discharged Soldiers' Settlement Act 01 through the State Advances Department.
