TE AWAMUTU TRACK.
PEGAWAY RECOMMISSIONEI). PRODICE LOOKING WELL. All the fast work at Te Awamutu yesterday morning was carried out on the hurdle track, which was very heavy owing to overnight rain. Te Horaai was first out, and moved very freely over a round at three-quarter pace. Prodice, who figures among the entries for the Taumarunui meeting, went four furlongs, but was not after time. She was finishing on and looks wonderfully well. Despite her weight she should give a good account of herself. Red Lion and a St. Amans representative ran five furlongs, the first two taking 27s and the full distance 1.5. Red Lion finished well in front and is working in good style. Pegaway, who has been recommissioned after a spell, is again under A. Cook's charge, and looks in first-class order. Others to do useful work on the inside grass were Motere, Biddy's Boy, Trishna and Hoihoma. _____—— A PROMISING HACK. Few horses at Ellerslie have done better than Full Measure, who has improved to a marked extent during the past couple of months and Geo. Holland deserves great credit for the.progress the Surveyor gelding has made.„ This speedy three-year-old ran two good races at the Great Northern meeting and gives every indication of developing into a first-class hack when properly seasoned. Like the majority of Surveyor's stock, Full Measure has abundance of speed, and his owner should have little trouble in getting more money* with. him. '
