DEPARTURE FOR SOUTH.
EXTENSIVE WAIKATO TOUR. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, this day. The Governor-General, Lord Bledisloe, and Lady Bledisloe, who left Auckland for Hamilton this afternoon, will spend the week-end in the Waikato to enable his Excellency to acquaint himself with farming life in this district. The visit is purely informal, and while here their Excellencies will inspect a number of farms under the guidance of Dr. H. E. Annett. To-morrow afternoon they will visit properties of Mr. J. Eanstead and Dr. Annett at Matangi. The whole of Monday will be devoted to a tour of the district at Ngarua. They will inspect farms of Mr. Candy and Mr. Hayward, and on their return will call at Mr; Harrington's farm, Eureka, where his Excellency, who is particularly interested in the pig industry, will see pjg recording work being done. Visits will be paid to the farms of Messrs. W. Boyd, of Matangi, Day. of Tamahere, and Hales, of Silverdale. On Tuesday their Excellencies will visit Arapuni and will leave on Tuesday night for Rotorua. On the following day they will leave en route to Gisborne, calling at Whakatane school, Opotiki, and several smaller places on the way, spending the night at Motu, and leaving for Gisborne on the following morning. Thursday afternoon and Friday they will spend at Gisborne, and on Saturday their Excellencies will motor to Wairoa, staying there for a couple of hours and then proceeding to Napier, where the week-end will be spent. „ . _, , On Monday, June 22, their Excellencies will leave for Wellington, where thev will go into residence at Government House during the forthcoming session of Parliament.
