Japan Government Revive Economy Scheme. THREAT OF STRIKE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) TOKYO, May 20. In pursuance of its economy campaign the Government lias reproduced in modified form the plan abandoned in 1929 for the reduction of pay of officials and employees, as a result of which 200,000 railwaymen are threatening to strike. This would dislocate the railways throughout the country.
