Returning from Norfolk Island this morning, the cable steamer Iris went to her moorings off Devonport. VERONICA RETURNED. Owing to the rough weather on the coast, H.M.s. Veronica omitted her call at Whangaroa, and came direct to Auckland, where she arrived last evening. SERVICE TO 'FRISCO. Commencing with the Sonoma in July, the Matson passenger steamers will call at Auckland en route from Sydney to San Francisco. DEVON LOADS. Due at Auckland from Opua this evening, the Federal steamer Devon is to load for London at the Queen's wharf. RANGITIKI DISCHARGING. Arriving from Wellington this morning, the New Zealand Shipping Co.'s motor ship Rangitiki berthed at the Prince's wharf to complete discharge of her general cargo from London and commence Homeward loading. MONOWAI TO SAIL. On her return trip to Sydney, the Union Co.'s passenger steamer Moriowa'. is to be dispatched from the Prince's wharf at 3 p.m. to-morrow. WINTON IN PORT. Running under charter to the A. and A. Line, the motor ship Winton arrived at Auckland from New York to-day, and is discharging the local portion of her cargo at the Prince'i wharf to the agency of the New Zealand Shipping Co. WAIPAHI DIVERTED. Instead of going to Westport to load, the Union Co.'s steamer Waipahi is to leave Wellington to-morrow afternoon for Auckland direct. She is to be dispatched from here on Wednesday next for the Cook Islands to load a cargo of fruit. HOKIANGA BAR. A Gazette notice advises mariners that the Hokianga River bar now carries a uniform depth of 13ft at mean low water springs, with the exception of a channel carrying 22ft mean low water springs, with the flagstaff bearing 113 degrees. This channel is difficult to work with any sea on, by reason of it being situated so far north and close in-shore. i
