VICTORIA LEAGUE.
The president and executive members of the Victoria League gave a delightful morning tea in the league rooms yesterday, at /which the new Mayoresses of the Auckland suburbs were given the opportunity of meeting Mrs. G. W, Hutchison, the new Mayoress of Auckland. The gathering was entirely informal and a very pleasant time was spent. The large bowls of golden chrysanthemums in the rooms were beautiful and tall stands containing green palms added fo the beauty of the scene. Miss Mowbray, president of the league,'extended a hearty welcome to Mrs. Hutchison and the other Mayoresses. She particularly welcomed Mrs. A. D. Campbell, who was present, and who, she said, had done such fine work during her term of office as Mayoress. She paid high tribute to the women of the city who were working so hard in civic interests. Miss Mowbray later gave a brief outline of the league's activities. The hostesses for the morning were: Lady Sinclair Lockhart, Mesdames J. B. Macfarlane, L. S. Rickerby, Edgar, Misses" Fenton, Slator, Oswin and Murray. Among those present were: The Mayoress, Mrs. G. W. Hutchison, the ex-Mayoress, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, Mesdames W. F. Stihvell (Mount Albert), H. F. W. Meikle (Devonport), S. Donaldson (Newmarket), T. McNab (Mount Eden), I. J. Goldstine (One Tree Hill), J. P. McPhail (Birkenhead), G. Lawson (New Lynn), R. Martin (Northcote), J. S. Brigham, H. W. Wilson, A. Milliken and Worrall.
