DEFENDANT SENT TO PRISON. REFUSED TO DISCLOSE NAMES. (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, Wednesday. A defended ease in the Police Court tliis morning came to an abrupt halt when, consequent upon the defendant refusing to answer a question, Mr. E. C. Levvey. SAL, sentenced him to three days' imprisonment for contempt of Court. The defendant was John Taylor, labourer, who pleaded not guilty to a charge of keeping liquor for sale in the no-license district of Invercargill. He refused to disclose the names of companions with whom, he said, liquor was drunt on a vacant section outside the no-license area.
