The items wci e thoroughly appreciated by the 200 men. The treat was given in conjunction with "Cheer Up Week," which still holds sway in Queen Street.
The bright weather to-day, and -bfree gift scheme, drew even more peopu to Queen Street, and the number of tickets on which the word '"claimed' is written has increased in every shop window. There are numbers of free gifts yet to be claimed, however, and this fact is recognised by holders of numbers, who are still diligently searching the shop windows. The usual round of entertainments was held to-day. The costume concert party played selections at the street corners, and the "incognita'' singer \va3 again heard in the various arcades. The touch of festival which has been given to the city during the week by the illuminating of Queen Street will be continued this evening, when special theatre and cabaret entertainments will be given.
