RAILWAY BOARD PERSONNEL PRIME MINISTER'S ASSURANCE. (jiy Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, Tuesday. "I can give that assurance straight awav," was the ready reply of the Prime Minister, the Right Hon. G. W. Forbes, in the House this afternoon, when Mr. 11. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour partv, asked for a statement supporting the clause in the Railway Bill providing that no member of the General Assembly would be eligible for appointment to the proposed board. "Then," asked Mr. Holland, "there will be no resignation from the General Assembly to enable the appointment to be made?" The Prime Minister: No. Mr. Holland: Thank you for that assurance. Now, will the Prime Minister go a step further, and tell us who the members of the board will be? The Prime Minister: I haven t the faintest idea. "Perhaps the 'London >,ews hasnt told hini yet," interjected Mr. 11. I. Armstrong (Labour, Christchurch East), ilr. Speaker: Order! Order!
