RAILWAYMEN DISAPPROVE.
DISCUSSION WITH PRIME MINISTER. MR. FORBES' SURPRISE. (By Telegraph.—Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. For nearly two hours this morning the Prime Minister (Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes) discussed with representatives of the railwaymen's organisation, the Government's proposal for the removing of the railways from political control. The proceedings were conducted in private, but Mr. Forbes stated subsequently that the railwaymen expressed disapproval of the policy. He informed them that he thought they would have welcomed the change.
