GHASTLY STORY.
RIPPER MURDERER. Revulsion in Germany at Foul Details. PRESS CENSORS NEWS. (United P.A.—Electric Telegraph—Copyrignt) (Received 11.30 a.m.) BERLIN, April 14. Kevulsion at the ghastly details of Kuerten's confessions to the recent series of murders at Dusseldorf is manifest throughout Germany in a deluge of requests for the suppression of the fiendish story. This resulted in to-day's proceedings being taken in camera. Only a small number of journalists were admitted. This was done at tlie request of the German Press Association, which is issuing brief summaries. Even much of this is not publishable. When asked what caused his sadistic impulses, Kuerten explained that they were partly inherited from his father and also that contributory influences were the bad experiences of his childhood. His parents and ten of a family slept in one room with shocking consequences. He confessed that at the age of nine he had deliberately drowned two playmates in the Rhine. Kuerten said he hated the world. It was hie ambition to become the greatest criminal of all time. "All human feelings were killed in me when at the age of 16 I was arrested for sleeping on a bench in a park, and led through the streets handcuffed like a burglar." The prosecution says it has evidence to assure his conviction on 74 charges. In contrast with his call us behaviour at yesterday's confessions, Kuerten today alternately became flushed and deathly pale, getting very excited as he narrated his crimes.
