A DENTIST'S HARDSHIP.
I wish to bring before the public's attention the injustice of depriving a comparatively old man of his means of livelihood. For over forty years I have practised as a dental extractor .and for the past twenty-eight years have been employed by one of the leading dentists of this city as sole extractor. Surely with all -this experience I should be allowed to continue in my profession. But no, the powers that be have decreed that I must be dismissed as I am not fully qualified. When I commenced dentistry it was not compulsory to be thus qualified, and so I have continued all these years unmolested. It is no idle boast for me to say that I have pulled as many teeth as any man in Auckland, and have invariably given satisfaction. This statement can be corroborated by a great number of leading medical men, who have administered anaesthetics for me. I am sixty-three years of age, and, through no fault of my own, I am now practically destitute and have a wife and family to support. Surely something could be done to alleviate such an injustice as this. I am not the only one to suffer in this manner, and feel there is urgent need of a remedy for such men as may find themselves in the same predicament. MOLAR.
