Following on his success in the Glial-, leiige Stakes, the two-year-old Cricket Bat has finished his racing for the season. He will be spelled for the winter, and then will be got ready for three-s-car-old engagements in which his 'prospects look bright, as he has given indications of being a stayer. Banelagh is striding out freely in his work. He will not be quite at his best for the South Canterbury meeting, this month, but he will be ready to show fair form, having been hacked about his owner's station for some time before he made- his reappearance on the tracks. Desert Song, after spelling for a couple of months, is again a member of T. Lloyd's active team. He may be raced at South Canterbury, but he will not be very forward, as he has not done much fast work since he resumed training.. Pangolin, whose form over hurdles at the recent meeting was only moderate, is to be given a chance during the winter t0 " earn distinction. as a steeplechaser.
